deeply…<br/> The first time was in Portugal, the second time in Albania…<br/> Wow ! Albania ! How to describe ? What to say ?<br/> At the first glance, this country could be like this girl sitting alone near the dance floor, the one nobody comes to talk or dance with, just because she looks less flashy, less fashionable, less sexy than other girls moving in the middle of the dance floor with all boys around…<br/> But boys are often blind and superficial… THE girl, the one that will make beat your heart, that will make you feel alive is the lonely one, Albania is this lonely unique girl !!! <br/> Just at first glance, it looks so much more poor, dirty, unorganized, crazy, very far of what you can maybe expect to find in europe and there is all what people who never been there can say about albanian people..”They will still your money, kill you, trick you…ect…” But you are curious and you want to know more about this strange girl, to see this reality with your own eyes, so you keep walking on this new territory, not feeling so comfortable, but now you are here, you made the choice to be here, so you don’t stop…<br/> You are walking…people are saying you hello, smiling at you… First surprise… Then, the first village…a school…and suddenly you are surrounded by 200 teenagers !!! talking to you, touching you… At first you don’t even know how to react and just try to “control” a situation you have not so much control on it. Then the director of school invite you to come, to sit on the playground with children and naturally start many exchanges, many conversations about everything, about france, about football, about my wife, my children, my car, about how it is outside Albania and so many things… You spend 1 hour here with them, with teachers, talking in a mix of french, english, italian, albanian and a lot with hands…and you just feel well, happy, happy to be surrounded by all those young people who have not so much material things, no fancy clothes, no ipods, but a true happiness and anger to discover to share with you. <br/> All my days were like this in Albania. Sometimes it was just a smile, few words, a coffee, a meal, a place to sleep, a kiss, a raki, more smiles. <br/> Many times, it was a true heartbreak to leave those people, to continue on my way… I think I could stay there months if I didn’t have in mind my goal to reach Istanbul… One day I will come back here, with the only goal to spend more times with them…<br/> I wished I took all those faces with my camera…but most of the time, I was just living the moment and didn’t want to break it with a pic session…;)<br/> Of course, all is not perfect about Albania…of course the situation of women there is not so good, more because some stupid tradition than religion ( I talked with maybe 5 women during my stay…), but I am sure this country will grow up and will become better and better…if politicians don’t blow everything away.<br/> Albania was a true lesson…a beautiful lesson about unconditional love, the feeling that here in Europe, where we are all blinded by stupid things mostly about economy, here in Europe, there is a little country who is sitting alone in the corner of the dance floor and who is waiting we will be ready to listen his little happy pics since I was on my way to Dubrovnik ! I will try to fix it !…;) I have a room with condition air, wifi, some greek meze in the fridge, so it will be ok…;)<br/> Dubrovnik was really a beautiful city ! Maybe one of the most beautiful in the world…yes, and then ? More I travel, less I enjoy this kind of places that are just beautiful, beautiful but like empty, no life, no soul, just tourists and the tourism industry around…beautiful but boring… I visited Dubrovnik and it was beautiful…;)<br/> I just spent few days in Montenegro… It is a so small country that you can walk pretty fast from north to south… Strange country…hard to get what people are feeling inside…From the outside and from glances, I had the feeling some of them just wanted to kill me…;)<br/> The good surprise about this country was when I arrived in mountains in the south…very different, with very nice and open people. And closer I was from Albania, nicer were people…(after being in Albania, I can understand now maybe the influence…).<br/> This area was also in majority muslim… There was something magic to sleep out of villages and to hear from minarets the call for prayer…hard to explain but this voice coming from far with mountains around… Amazing !<br/> There is many touristy areas in Croatia and Montenegro. I tried to avoid a lot of them, tried to feel and see what you can feel and see behind the mask of tourism…hard to get it…maybe it takes time and I didn’t take enough time ? Maybe I was not ready to get it ? It was good to be there anyway. lovely night spent on the boat to get croatian coast. There was a so long time I didn’t take a boat to travel… It is just perfect !!! I wish I could just always travel by boat…<br/> I arrived very early in the morning in Split and jumped right away in this new adventure, with those new people, new language… The goal was to walk to Dubrovnik and after few days, I am almost there. <br/> There was two very different faces of Croatia. The touristy one, the one you get when you stay along the Adriatic sea, the one most of tourists coming there can see with those smashing landscapes. And there was the one I found walking more inside the country. The one cut with Bosnian borders, the one with name of towns that reminds you some very dark moments you “lived” watching the TV….Mostar, Lace, Sarajevo… All those funeral monuments along the road… Young men died in their 20’s… For what ? <br/> It could be a true little paradise with all those mountains falling in the sea…those landscape so huge that even your wide angle camera can’t catch them… But there is the landscape and there is people living in this landscape…and then suddenly the paradise turns into something less easy, something less nice, less peaceful. Even after many years, you can feel that tomorrow all can restart again, putting some more funeral monuments along the road…for what ? I tried very hard to get smiles from local people…but there was no smiles… Maybe scares still too deep to smile ? <br/> It is a lovely country, where people seem not so happy even if you can feel that some of them try hard to show a happy face…a country so close and at the same time so fare from mine….<br/> It is an uneasy feeling, but it is good sometimes to be somewhere that put you billions of questions in mind… You can always make the choice to just look at the landscape and ignore what is burning behind, but I don’t think it is the way I want to explore this world…<br/> So we will see… I guess balkans countries are like a big puzzle and you need to explore more pieces to understand the meaning of this uneasy feeling.<br/> Here few pics of those beautiful country, because, fuck yes !!!! One day I will come back to walk in mountains… They are beautiful !!!!<br/> Italy was short… I wanted it short… I already know a lot of places from north of Italy and I was just too much impatient to arrive in Croatia. Italy was about several hours traveling by train, a sleepless night in Milano because a train company strike, then I got the Adriatic coast to take a ferry boat to Split, Croatia. The little I seen from this side is beautiful !!! Very !!! In few hours I will be in the boat for a 12 hours crossing… i can’t wait to see the sunside on this unknown land by me !
